2.25.08 Ninja Run
NVM hares
Believe it or not, the ninja run for the NVM was put together with very
little fuss. I know it seemed like we must have spent ages and ages planning our arsenal, imagining the perfect
trail, practicing how to put on our ninja suits, and scoping out the brothel, er, I mean onon location…. But—no.
We got together at 5pm Monday and things just magically happened like it does for all hares that leave everything
to the last minute.
Thanks to HJ4H for selling shirts at the race start to people who didn’t have 5th grade students to steal real
prefab ninja masks from like Hard and Lengthy did. Yeah, she tried to tell us it was one of her ski masks, but
come on!
I’m not sure why some people were complaining about r*nning thru the western addition with ninja masks on, everyone
made it to the mall in record time. No one ran less than a 10 minute mile, and besides, the police wagon at the
Japantown mall was especially there for your safety. Too bad they missed all the action at the peace monument.
I understand that FB and Huevos surprised quite a few of the FRBs with hash ninja bombs, made out of flour and
cheesecloth by WYD. Genius!
And just when you thought you were safe, those pesky ninjas got you again! Yes it was Party Spray aka Silly String!
Splat was abducted by the NVM and turned into ninja number 5 – what an awesomely stealthy ninja he made! Things
got a little hairy when STH stole one of the cans and the situation was looking dire for this ninja (silly me,
I forgot ninjas don’t back each other up, that would be the musketeers) but since STH has no experience with spray
canisters and couldn’t figure out how to work it, I was actually quite safe.
There were more newbies than usual. They said they had fun. I guess Oh Shit hadn’t spoken to them yet. Thank
you to whoever got him to finally put back on his shirt. It’s easier to concentrate on his great smile when one
isn’t… distracted.
And just when he was getting the hang of hashing, Handcock told us he got a promotion and will have to let go of
the Hash on Mondays. So that’s sad news.
People either went to Tommy’s Joint or Dimples and the land of OB afterwards. Gotta love it. If you missed this
hash, then I feel truly sorry for you. Ninjas Rule. Let me know if you want pictures from the evening.
Yours,
Peek
