Now that all the April Fool's Day tomfoolery is out of the way it's time to get down to some serious fun stuff.  As I mentioned in my e-mail on the hash system (Vol 111, Issue2),  we all have a chance for a fun day in McLaren Park.  For you early risers the day can begin with the Help McLaren Park Pancake Breakfast.  The donation of $10.00 will get you an all you can eat breakfast and will get Help McLaren Park much needed funding.  They are good people and we (the hash) have worked together with them on several volunteer projects.  Next you can head (I said head) to Yosemite Marsh for the regularly scheduled volunteer work day.  This two hours (10:00AM until Noon) will be spent on all the various projects at the Marsh.  These include; eradicating Himalayan Blackberries, planting native plants and grasses, and weeding other invasive species.  Following the work, there will be BEER.  Following the BEER, there will be a hash trail.  I will already have marked the trails for Walkers, Turkeys and Eagles.  They will all be mostly paths and trails and will all be contained within McLaren Park.  Trail stats will be available prior to the start.  Trails are mostly kid, stroller and dog friendly, so bring everybody and make it a day.  Enough with the pitch, let's get down to the facts.

 

The date is Saturday, Saturday, Saturday April 11,2015.  The places are: Pancake Breakfast,  Louis Sutter Clubhouse, Louis Sutter Playground, Wayland Ave. and University St, McLaren Park.  Volunteer Workday, Yosemite Marsh, Bacon and Oxford Streets, McLaren Park.  Hash Trail Start will be at Yosemite Marsh also.  Times: Pancake Breakfast 9:00AM until Noon.  Workday, 10:00AM until Noon.  Hash Trail Start, 1:00PM.  Parking is usually pretty easy around McLaren Park and Muni is close (54, 44 and 29).

 

RSVPs would be very helpful.  SF Rec and Park will need numbers so that they have enough gloves and tools.  I will need to know how much BEER to bring.  If you can remember, let the folks at the Pancake Breakfast know that you are a hasher or hash family member.  ON-ON!!!
